The Fall 2016 collection started as a continuation of the Spring 2016 collection, in a new way. Bringing in elements from the past few collections established classic Marc Jacobs elements, but took a darker and more moody turn by being redone in shades of grey with subtle pops of green and mauve. Playing with the proportion, a common theme throughout Marc’s career, added to the theatrical impact of this collection with knitwear shown both shrunken and extremely oversized. Embellishment continued to take a leading role in the ready-to-wear, this time with the spookey imagery of spiders, cats, and caged birds. Patch working and hand crocheted collars provided another level of texture and interest on knitwear, dresses and fur coats.
